Dr. Sakamoto is a specialist in emergency medicine and disaster medicine, traumatology, prehospital care, surgery, and intensive care medicine. He is a member of the INSARAG Medical Working Group, the Japan Disaster Medical and Rescue Team (JDR) and Japan DMAT, and a member of the Crush Syndrome Research Committee of the Japan Association for Disaster Medicine (JADM). In disaster relief experiences, he was deployed to the Great East Japan Earthquake (2011), the Mexico Earthquake (2017), and the Turkey Earthquake (2023), and has contributed to multiple domestic disaster relief operations.
